DESCRIPTION:A talk by Steve Riley on: \nHow to identify varroa resistant traits in colonies and the various club projects underway in the South East. \nSteve is the author of the book “The Honey Bee Solution to Varroa” and a member of the “Path to Varroa-resistance in the UK” team that launched the education and science website: wwww.varroaresistant.uk in April 2023. He is the Education Officer at Westerham Beekeepers\, a club in the south-east of England\, who are in their 8th year of looking for and finding Varroa-resistant honey bees. Steve presents on Varroa-resistance to beekeeping associations around the UK\, including sessions at the BBKA Spring Convention\, the National Honey Show\, BIBBA Conferences\, and also internationally in Ireland\, Norway\, Germany and the USA.

SUMMARY:Beginners Beekeeping Course
DESCRIPTION:We will be running a Beekeeping Course for Beginners starting on the 15th March 2025. The course will consist of 6 sessions held weekly for two hours on a Saturday morning at 10.00am (except Easter weekend 19th April 2025) and will cover many aspects of beekeeping plus a practical session looking at bees\, frame making and more. \n  \nThe cost of the course is £105\, which will entitle you to membership of Laddingford & District Beekeepers for the 2025 season ending 30th September 2025\, which will also entitle you to attend our teaching apiary on a weekly basis throughout the season.
