There are 8 colonies to treat and they will all be done on the day. A practical demonstration on an empty hive will take place to show the principles before we do the actual operation. The method we will be using is sublimation of oxalic acid crystals. Oxalic acid is corrosive and so people attending will need to be equipped with the appropriate equipment. We will be administering the treatment through the front entrance so the hives will not be opened, consequently, appropriate attire will be at your discretion. If we do need to open a hive of live bees then a full bee suit will be necessary. Warm clothing will be an advantage as it is January.
